DUBAI – Dubai has awakened to a calmer, clearer skyline as unsettled weather conditions across the UAE begin to stabilise.

After days of heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds, the city now offers a striking contrast – washed, refreshed and glowing under soft sunshine.

The intense weather system that swept through the country from late Thursday into early Friday brought dramatic scenes across multiple emirates. Downpours, lightning and gusty winds transformed the usually bright skyline into a moody spectacle, with the iconic Burj Khalifa piercing through clouds and rain in unforgettable visuals.

By Saturday, conditions had improved significantly. Clear to partly cloudy skies now dominate, while cooler temperatures and light north-westerly winds offer a welcome change. According to the National Centre of Meteorology, wind speeds remain moderate, with occasional stronger gusts, and humidity levels are expected to rise slightly in inland areas.

Despite the return of sunshine, authorities across Dubai and other emirates continue to remain vigilant. Teams are actively working to manage residual waterlogging, clear affected roads and restore normal traffic flow following one of the most intense weather spells of the season.

Beautiful Dubai

The aftermath of the rain has left Dubai looking unusually serene.

Streets appear freshly washed, the air feels cleaner, and the skyline stands sharper against the clearing sky.

Pockets of water and damp surfaces reflect the city’s towering structures, creating postcard-worthy scenes across urban landscapes.

Residents and visitors alike are witnessing a rare side of Dubai – one where storm clouds give way to golden light, and the city’s iconic landmarks emerge brighter than before.

From rain-soaked avenues to sunlit skyscrapers, the transition underscores the resilience and rapid recovery efforts that define the emirate.

While normalcy steadily returns, officials continue to urge caution on the roads and in affected areas, as clean-up operations progress and safety remains a priority.
